These are designed to survive repeated drops. The hubs are thick stainless steel insert rings with a 3-anchor point system to lock in the center hub, so they're durable enough for Olympic lifting.
Product Details
It's time to bump up your lifting game! These medium-bounce rubber bumper plates have a thick stainless steel insert ring with 3 anchor points to prevent common bumper breakdowns. The number one advantage of bumpers is safety for the lifter. A lifter who hesitates to dump a bad lift because they're afraid of damage to the floor or the equipment is more likely to get hurt. Bumpers take any worry about damage completely out of the equation.
Iron plates come in a variety of non-standardized diameters, so if you are doing any exercises pulling from the floor, such as deadlifts, or cleans, unless you have 45lb plates on each side, you'll be pulling from a deficit. Cheap bumpers can be up to 10% off the claimed weight, causing you to put the wrong weight on the bar. Our bumper plates are accurate to +/- 1% of the claimed weight. No more second-guessing what's on the bar — ever.

Took me a while to figure out which bumpers I wanted. Was between these and the Rogue Echos. Ultimately, I went with these because they were the thinnest all black bumpers, and the lip seemed like it would be easier to grab compared to the Rogue or others. The shape and design is like the newer urethane style with that thinner lip on the top which does make it much easier to grab. Anyways, these don’t smell, even though the description says it might. Like, i guess if you wanna sniff it, it’ll smell like rubber but it deff doesn’t make the room smell or anything like this. Real happy. Stoked to get more. Also, grabbed some rubber coated 2.5’s and 5’s as change plates. If you want black change plates instead of the expensive coloured ones, get these. Much cheaper too!

These plates are great . Given their smooth finish inside the circular yolk , these slide nicely in and off the bars or any machine pegs, more so than any other equipment I’ve ever used at a standard gym. They’re also not as clunky and easily grab-able to pull off of or put into rack equipment or your attachments due to the smooth finish of the rubber. Gives it that safer feeling when handling . Also when dropped on floors they’re very quiet and far better than standard iron or steel plates at the gym. They’re compatible with all BOS equipment pieces that are attached to the racks from my experience and never had issues. I will buy more in the future once I can up my strength!

They are exactly as described…dead bounce bumper plates! I would caution anyone who wants to lift heavy on the lever arms (as opposed to an Olympic bar) that bumper plates are thick enough to fill up available space fast.
