I started my home gym back when I was in the army to help with social anxiety by installing a small starter rack in my barracks room, and it's evolved since.
I started my home gym back when I was in the army to help with social anxiety by installing a small starter rack in my barracks room, and it's evolved since.Currently, I'm focused on my bench and working on hitting a stronger 5x5.
I've been writing my own program for about three years, and it's progressively become more dialled in and focused.
I have the Residential Power Rack 4.1 with the Rack Lat Pulldown / Row Attachment and Y-dip attachment. I also swapped the J-cups out for Roller J-cups. As far as bars, I've got the commercial Flat / Incline / Decline Weight Bench, Barenaked Powerlifting Bar 2.0, Industrial Rackable EZ Curl Bar 2.0, and a tricep bar. Lastly, I've been swapping out my weight plates for the B.o.S. iron.
Next on my list is a toss-up between more weight plates (looking at the Calibrated ones especially) or the Monolift Attachment.
If I had to choose a gym hack for the home gym user, I'd say mark your spots on the rack and label them. It takes all guesswork out of set-up, and a little hand sanitizer will wipe it right off if needed.
